More About Rachel

Rachel was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently lives in Los Gatos, California with her two daughters. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a B.A. degree in Psychology and received her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco in 2006. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (license #49008) specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy.
Rachel spent her formative years working at Uplift Family Services where she helped children and families recover from trauma. She acquired a large skill set in trauma-informed practices, which she now integrates into her holistic private practice. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy), Child and Adolescent Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Brainspotting. These are all highly effective approaches in helping clients leverage the power of their own brains to overcome trauma as well as limiting core beliefs about oneself.
Rachel proceeded with extensive training at the Mental Research Institute (MRI), the birthplace of family therapy, in Palo Alto, California. This is where she developed skills in Strategic Family Therapy, Gestalt, and Hypnotherapy. In 2013, she was given the opportunity to work at MRI as a Clinical Supervisor, training MFT Interns using a one-way mirror. She also taught graduate students at Santa Clara University as an Adjunct Lecturer until starting a family of her own and settling into private practice.

Today Rachel integrates a variety of effective psychotherapy methods to increase personal awareness and actively challenge roadblocks that have been getting in the way of healing. Instinctually, she also uses compassion, humor, and understanding to help her patients feel at ease and accomplish their goals. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys yoga, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
